Week Two - Moving Along

Buna!

My Companions and Me at Provo Temple
This past week as gone super fast! We had a lesson with Radu that we want to try not to script it out completely and we were super nervous about. We want in and tired really hard to just follow the spirit and figure out what Radu needed to hear. It went super well! I really felt like we told hi exactly what he needed to hear and we commit him to baptism! Yay! The next lesson with him we tried to do the same thing but we didn't prepare enough and it did not go very well, there were a lot of awkward pauses where we were trying to figure out what to say and how to say it in Romanian.
Sister Maingot and Wanamaker (Our STLs)

My Zone (all districts)
Funny story Sister Nicol got a slip saying she got a package so she went to go pick it up and it was actually a package for me. Because of the way my mom wrote my name and because the package people didn't read it carefully enough they thought my middle (nicole) was my last name. So poor sister Nicol, but its okay because she got a package the next day.

Some of our Elders and the STLs
Pretty much all the other people in our zone left today so that was super sad. We only knew them a little over a week but I love them so much! As a result of that my companions and I are the new Sister training letters for our zone. We have 15 new missionaries that are coming in on wednesday for our zone so that will be fun.

We read a wonderful talk by Elder Holland this week called the Miracle of a Missionary. I highly recommended it. I just love Elder Holland so much!

My companions and me
Sunday we got to hear from Elder Ballard in a Easter Devotional so that was super awesome. It was so wonderful to hear his special witness that Christ lives and he is our savior!

I love you all so much!

First Week at the MTC

Buna!
My District- All going to Romania
I made it through to the first Sunday! It has been a crazy four days though. The language is a little harder to learn than I thought it would be, just because they use sounds that we don't use in english (or french for that matter) at all. I know I will get it though eventually with the Lords help. My companions are a big help to me with the language. I'm in a trio! So I get two companions :) I love both of them so much already. They are both from Utah. My district (all the elders and sisters going to Romania) is super awesome. The Elders are all so goofy which makes class super fun!

We taught our first lesson in Romanian on Thursday. So that was super crazy. We were all kind of like you want us to do what now? We basically just had to right down what we were going to say and then just read off of our paper. Our investigator is named Radu (hes actually one of our teachers) and he is going to easy on us. The second lesson we taught him was on Friday and we taught him about the first vision (when God and Christ appeared to Joseph Smith) and he took it really well. He agreed to pray about Joseph Smith which was super awesome because I thought he might say no.

The crazy Elders
The spirit is so incredible here. It so nice to have so much time to just really study the scriptures and the gospel. My companions and I have started reading the Book of Mormon in Romanian together (Cartae Lui Mormon) and even though we don't really understand what we are reading yet you can still feel the spirit testify of its truthfulness as we read. I'm sure i will have more to write about next week! I love you all! Te iubesc!

Here We Go!!

               MTC DAY

Kate will be the author of these blogs, but figured I (mom) would start the ball rolling.

Kate entered the MTC today!!  It is a beautiful sunny day here in Provo, which made it all the nicer.   Everything went smoothly.  I was worried the whole process would feel very rushed and too quick.  It wasn't so bad.  They were very organized (of course) and everyone was very nice and smiley.   We pulled up to the gait at the MTC and were greeted by a Senior Missionary Elder.  We were then directed to the left, once he put a red tag on the windshield to indicate we had a sister missionary to deliver.  We pulled to the curb in the spot we were directed and a cute little dark haired sister missionary came up to help.  She even offered to take our picture, which we said, "Sure."  Another Elder helped get the big suitcase.  While the men got the luggage, I was getting in my hugs.  Kate is such a good hugger.  The luggage was on the curb, we had our hugs (Walt and I), then off she went with her new friend.  They were quite cute together.  As we pulled around the circle, I looked to see if I could still see Kate, but she was already inside.
So now her adventure starts!! She will do great.  We are so proud of her.
For anyone who wants to write to Kate while she is in the MTC and want her to get it before her weekly email, you can go to Dearelder.com  (that is Dear Elder).  If you get it written there by 12 pm, they will deliver it to her that day.  This only works while she is in the MTC, which until April 24th.  (Her Birthday!!)
